Billing and Claims Specialist

About the role
This role performs various functions to enable Intermountain Health to submit its claims to payers in a timely and correct manner. We are committed to offering flexible work options where approved and stated in the job posting.
Responsibilities
- Ensure correct medical coverage is applied to the account based on the date of service.
- Resolve issues preventing the billing of the claim such as stop bills, DNB’s, coverage changes, and overlapping accounts.
- Understand payer-specific requirements as well as state and federal requirements for claims.
- Be responsible for the undo billing and NRP functions and activities.
- Monitor assigned work queues and accounts with outstanding balances or unbilled claims.
- Identify and report trends and propose solutions.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding productivity and quality goals.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year in a healthcare billing environment.

- Experience with Epic Systems and Hospital Claims Billing.

Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Schedule
40 hours per week
Pay
$19.41 - $28.14 per hour, dependent upon experience.
