Billing Analyst

About the Role

The Billing Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the billing processes within the organization. This position is responsible for analyzing billing data, reconciling accounts, and identifying discrepancies to support timely and accurate invoicing. The Billing Analyst collaborates closely with accounting and finance teams to maintain compliance with corporate accounting standards and internal controls. By leveraging detailed analytical skills, the role contributes to optimizing billing workflows and improving financial reporting accuracy. Ultimately, the Billing Analyst helps drive financial integrity and supports the company’s revenue cycle management in the Annapolis location.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze and reconcile billing data to ensure accuracy and completeness of invoices.
• Review account statements and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with internal departments and clients.
• Prepare detailed reports and summaries related to billing activities and account status.
• Maintain and update billing records in compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.
• Utilize pivot tables and other analytical tools to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams to support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Aid in the development and implementation of billing process enhancements to increase efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in general accounting and corporate accounting environments.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables for data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex account data with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working as a billing analyst or in a similar financial analysis role.
• Familiarity with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Knowledge of billing regulations and compliance standards relevant to the industry.
• Advanced Excel skills, including macros and data visualization techniques.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
