Biller I - HB Patient Financial Services - FT Days

The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks a Patient Financial Services Coordinator to provide a welcoming environment for patients and guests. Reporting to the Supervisor of Customer Service, the primary responsibilities include:

• Screens patients or responsible relatives and refers them to the Collection Representative
• Answers and directs incoming telephone calls
• Schedules patient appointments to review their hospital account balances
• Ensures the lobby area is clean, organized, and safe at all times
• Prepares daily cash deposits
• Utilizes hospital computer systems to locate patient accounts and conduct clerical data entry
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
• Professional appearance consistent with the hospital dress code
• Able to effectively deal with emotional/difficult customer behavior(s)
