Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional member service through welcoming greetings, attentive body language, friendly conversation, and ensuring all member needs are met.
  • Process and accurately document all teller transactions according to established procedure.
  • Understand and determine acceptability of negotiable items and member identification.
  • Identify and address members’ questions and concerns to offer solutions.
  • Proactively engage member questions to uncover needs and cross-sell products and services; refer to appropriate staff members or open products/services as needed.
  • Assist with lobby management to ensure members are helped in a timely manner and feel welcome.
  • Stay informed on up-to-date financial services and tools offered by the Credit Union and educate members on new services and tools available.
  • Maintain cash drawer and balance within guidelines established by the Credit Union.
  • Assist or lift 50-pound bags of coin; stand for extended periods (up to four hours at a time).
  • Perform additional duties as required by the Management Team.
  • Actively work to meet or exceed product and service cross-sale goals.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6–12 months prior Teller experience within a financial institution, retail sales, or a customer service position involving cash handling.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish, Russian, or Vietnamese) are highly desired.

Skills

  • Ability to coordinate a variety of assignments simultaneously and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually to consistently meet and exceed set goals.
  • Proficient in counting cash, arithmetic, ten-key calculator, and basic computer skills.
  • High level of member service, sales, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, motivation, organization, and self-management skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to compliance requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to assist or lift 50-pound bags of coin.
  • Stands for extended periods of time (up to four hours at a time).
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency when assisting members.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday 9 AM–5:30 PM, Fridays 9 AM–6 PM, Saturdays 9 AM–1 PM. May be required to work a combination of hours throughout the workweek (Monday–Saturday).

Pay

Starting pay: $22.00 per hour (no specific banking experience required, but 6 months of sales and/or customer service experience is required).
