Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and provide written evidence of preparation.
  • Prepare lessons that accommodate diverse student learning styles.
  • Present subject matter in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines, Board of Trustees policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Establish efficient classroom management procedures and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
  • Design and maintain a system of student evaluation consistent with state law or district adoption.
  • Continuously evaluate, record, and report student progress to parents as needed.
  • Teach the prescribed course of study for the subject area and grade level.
  • Plan lessons that meet subject‑area objectives and create written substitute lesson plans.
  • Provide varied learning experiences using multiple media and methods to motivate students and maximize instructional time.
  • Identify pupil needs and collaborate with professional staff to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
  • Offer counseling to students and parents before and after school.
  • Participate in community outreach activities such as open houses and PTA meetings.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers when applicable.
  • Cooperate with the principal to develop evaluation systems in line with district guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate student records and file all required reports and documents.
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for the assigned subject and grade level.
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions with little or no prior experience.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to cope with a rapidly changing environment.
  • Willingness to stay current with professional developments.

Work Environment

The noise level is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to the job. Remote or alternate work arrangements are not permitted; regular, punctual attendance on campus is essential.

Pay

Minimum Salary: $68,000.00
