About the Role
Under supervision, performs a variety of complex and responsible secretarial duties in support of the day-to-day operations within Student Services’ operational unit. The incumbent will perform Student Registration related services in oral, reading, and writing Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on assistance and clerical support for efficient student assignment under the direction of the Senior Director of Student Services.
- Troubleshoot service requests for student services.
- Inform parents, students, and community stakeholders regarding student assignment processes and requirements.
- Provide general assistance regarding student files and folders.
- Research and perform general secretarial and clerical duties.
- Assist with district, state, and federal reports regarding student services as assigned.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Adhere to confidentiality regarding student services and remain flexible to cope with a changing, demanding workload.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required, supplemented by bilingual certification in oral, reading, and writing proficiency in Spanish or equivalent combination of training or experience.
- Two years of broad and varied experience in typing and clerical work.
- Ability to handle busy phones and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of proper office methods, techniques, procedures, and word processing techniques.
- Proficiency in proper telephone techniques and command of the English language.
- Ability to interpret orally and translate written material in Spanish as required.
- Skills to learn operations, procedures, policies, and requirements of assigned operational units and apply them with good judgment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in use of standard office equipment (copier, facsimile machines, calculators, scanners, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills in working with employees and the public.
Pay
Eleven-month (230 days) contract, Pay Grade 802, plus benefits package. Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience.
