About the role

The Safety Manager will oversee and enforce safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to the workplace, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. They will lead and manage on-site safety teams, conduct safety training and audits, and develop and implement safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enforce safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to the workplace
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Conduct safety training and audits

  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Track safety training for employees, including new hires and ongoing training sessions
  • Maintain documentation on incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Conduct root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry best practices
  • Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on construction sites
  • Manage safety documentation and records, including incident reports and training records
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution
  • Stay informed about advancements in construction safety practices and recommend improvements to existing programs

Requirements

  • Must have obtained OSHA 500
  • Minimum 8 years of safety experience, with at least 5 years of management experience
  • Bilingual - Spanish/English
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Familiarity with construction processes, equipment, and tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or equivalent are preferred
