About the role

The Bilingual Programs Manager will lead the direct services that reach the community, focusing on three key areas: the 800 Helpline, programs for individuals and families, and community education. The role requires fluency in both Spanish and English, both written and spoken, along with a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in program development and management.

Responsibilities

  • Run the 800 Helpline (information and referral), setting clear protocols for callers across the region.

  • Manage the Helpline and ensure callers get fast, useful help through intake, assessment, and follow-up.

  • Referral callers to programs and community services, and provide case management and follow-up.

  • Oversee the Emergency Assistance Program and the Safety Resource Program, coordinating with the national office to manage data and quality.

  • Partner with the Spanish Program Specialist to keep materials current and relevant for a diverse community.

  • Plan and deliver First Aid trainings in schools and organizations, coordinate the Brain Exhibit, and grow the program's reach by recruiting, training, and managing parents, advocates, and professionals.

  • Lead patient and family education, build new partnerships, and run educational programs in underserved areas.

  • Provide one-on-one education and advocacy, run sessions for the newly diagnosed, and bring in speakers on self-advocacy.

  • Manage supportive care programs, planning, running, and evaluating social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs.

  • Support the wider team and mission, helping the Executive Director guide other program staff and participating in most organizational activities.

  • Deliver programs in virtual formats and keep resources easy to find online.

  • Work with the Development team on grant requests and reports, and help maintain donor relationships.

  • Support teammates across awareness, advocacy, and signature events, ensuring these areas overlap.

Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in program development and management.

  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular travel across the region.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects on different timelines.

  • Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Comfort working with a wide range of people, including clients of varying abilities and from diverse backgrounds.

  • The ability to lead diverse teams that include staff, community organizations, and corporate partners.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office and in working with databases.

  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, and to make rare trips within the U.S.

  • The ability to represent the organization in a professional and ethical way.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, a bachelor's degree, and at least 5 years of experience in program development and management. Preferred qualifications include experience serving people and families, familiarity with the organization's mission, and On-the-job training is provided.

Skills

Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and working with databases is also required.
