About the role

The Bilingual Paraeducator supports teachers in the instruction of students with special education needs, particularly those in moderate/severe programs and mainstream classrooms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in classroom management and organization
  • Support students with individualized educational plans
  • Implement instructional strategies as directed by teachers
  • Provide assistance with daily routines and activities
  • Collaborate with other special education staff and teachers

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of higher education study (48 semester units) OR Associate’s or higher degree
  • Knowledge of first aid and universal health precautions
  • Strong English and Spanish oral and written communication skills
  • Licenses and certifications: Valid California Driver’s License, CPR Certification, MCOE Crisis Intervention Program, MCOE Sign Language Test, Spanish Language Competency Test
  • Ability to pass MCOE bilingual skills test

Qualifications

  • Education as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015
  • Prior job-related experiences with school-age children or individuals with disabilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish

Pay

$24.33 - $31.43 per hour

Schedule

M-F; 6 hr; 183 Days/Yr
