About the role
The Bilingual Paraeducator supports teachers in the instruction of students with special education needs, particularly those in moderate/severe programs and mainstream classrooms.
Responsibilities
- Assist in classroom management and organization
- Support students with individualized educational plans
- Implement instructional strategies as directed by teachers
- Provide assistance with daily routines and activities
- Collaborate with other special education staff and teachers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of higher education study (48 semester units) OR Associate’s or higher degree
- Knowledge of first aid and universal health precautions
- Strong English and Spanish oral and written communication skills
- Licenses and certifications: Valid California Driver’s License, CPR Certification, MCOE Crisis Intervention Program, MCOE Sign Language Test, Spanish Language Competency Test
- Ability to pass MCOE bilingual skills test
Qualifications
- Education as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015
- Prior job-related experiences with school-age children or individuals with disabilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish

Pay
$24.33 - $31.43 per hour
