Bilingual Middle School Math and ELA Tutor

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group tutoring in Math and ELA to middle school students (grades 6–8) identified as struggling with fundamental skills
• Work with groups of 1–4 students on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
• Deliver push-in services within the classroom and pull-out services outside the classroom; flexibility with both settings required
• Take daily attendance and monitor student progress using a personal mobile device

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (any field); anticipated graduation dates not accepted
• Fully bilingual in Spanish
• At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience in a school or other educational setting
• Mastery of middle school Math and ELA concepts and skills
• Comprehensive understanding of challenges faced by urban students, schools, and communities, including racial, socio-economic, and cultural disparities
• Genuine passion and unwavering commitment to fostering student success
• Exemplary punctuality and adherence to schedules
• Proficiency in communication skills for effective interaction with students, colleagues, and stakeholders
• Ability to commute to the designated location in Brooklyn, NY
• Ability to navigate a school environment, including walking through hallways, classrooms, and stairways throughout the workday

Schedule

Position runs from November 17, 2026 through March 5, 2027. Hours are 8:22 AM to 2:31 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Pay

$30.60–$34.00 per hour
