About the role

The Health Center Team Lead drives daily operations, ensuring efficiency, exceptional patient experiences, and adherence to ACCESS policies and procedures. As a Superuser (MA or Receptionist), they provide expert guidance, support staff development, and uphold the highest standards of care. In partnership with the Health Center Manager, they assess, plan, and oversee activities to create a seamless, patient-care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Train, mentor, and support staff to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Serve as a Superuser for EPIC and other key systems to improve efficiency.
  • Supervise staff, provide leadership, and deliver performance feedback.
  • Resolve patient concerns, support staff, and ensure a positive experience.
  • Implement new processes and ensure compliance with OSHA, IDPH, The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Optimize scheduling efficiency, reduce patient wait times, and overall service quality.
  • Maintain inventory, manage supplies, and oversee cash collections.
  • Develop staff schedules, assign tasks, and lead daily huddles.
  • Perform within expert scope of practice and manage emergencies, including serving as Vaccine for Children (VFC) liaison.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support health equity initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years’ healthcare experience and one (1) year as an MA required.
  • Minimum (6) months as an EPIC Superuser.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Working Conditions

  • Requires local travel between clinical/health centers, hospitals, and community sites.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required when using a personal vehicle.

Depending on the position, candidates may be required to be vaccinated against communicable diseases and provide supporting documentation proving that they are properly vaccinated, or apply for religious and/or medical vaccination exemption as part of the application process.

Pay

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
