Bilingual Family Centered Specialist

Mentor Maryland, part of the Sevita family, provides Residential and Treatment Foster Care services to youth who may be facing out-of-home placements, transitioning back into the family home or independent living alternatives, or involved in the juvenile justice system. Through personalized programming, we help youth gain stability, comfort, and confidence to overcome challenges and live well.

About the Role

As a Bilingual Family Centered Specialist (Spanish-English), you will provide assessments of individuals and families in areas such as mental status, personality, behavioral response patterns, relationships, and family interactions. You will propose service or treatment plans based on family needs and provide activity-based interventions. This role includes 24/7 coverage for assigned individuals/families, developing closure and aftercare plans, and building relationships with referring agencies and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of mental status, personality, behavioral response patterns, relationships, and family interactions.
• Propose and implement service or treatment plans based on family needs.
• Provide activity and participation-based interventions using training materials, experience, and peer successes.
• Offer 24/7 coverage for all assigned individuals and families.
• Develop closure and aftercare plans for each family or individual served.
• Maintain positive relationships with personnel from referring and collateral agencies.
• Guide families in interactions with agencies and community organizations; provide referrals to services and resources.
• Ensure documentation and records are confidential, organized, and submitted accurately and timely.
• Travel up to 1 hour to serve families.
• Participate in team meetings and collateral team meetings as needed.
• Support peer development by addressing professional growth areas and team performance.
• Provide training or field supervision for new or tenured peers; review and edit peer records, documentation, and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related Human Service field.
• One year of case management or behavioral health experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish-English) required.
• Specialized training required.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Valid Driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and valid registration & insurance.
