Position Summary
Our client, a global organization based in New York, is seeking a Manager / Senior Manager to lead enterprise system implementation and operational support initiatives. This position will oversee ERP-related projects and application support activities, working closely with internal stakeholders, overseas teams, and external vendors. The successful candidate will be responsible for requirements analysis, system enhancement, operational excellence, and team leadership to ensure business objectives are effectively supported.
Responsibilities
- Lead ERP system implementation and application support projects.
- Analyze business requirements and propose effective technology solutions.
- Oversee system enhancement, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Manage project schedules, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Ensure projects and support activities align with SDLC best practices.
- Promote operational improvements based on ITIL principles.
- Collaborate with teams across multiple regions, including Japan.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to project and support team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in ERP system implementation and/or ERP application support.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Strong English communication skills for customer support, executive reporting, and team collaboration.
- Business-level Japanese language proficiency.
- Strong analytical skills in requirements gathering, maintenance, and problem resolution.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with SAP or comparable ERP platforms.
- SAP Certified Application Associate certification.
- Experience managing non-Japanese vendors.
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and IT service management practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
