Bilingual Community Health Outreach Worker
Nature of Work
Reporting to the Office Supervisor, promote Cancer Screening Services through strategic community engagement and enrollment efforts. Primary duties include representing the program at health fairs, community events and provider visits to recruit eligible clients for no-cost breast, cervical and lung cancer screenings. Ability to verbally communicate fluently, in both English and Spanish. Provide vital linguistic support through interpretation services for staff and clients, while assisting with administrative tasks such as phone inquiries, appointment scheduling, and client follow-up. Required to have a personal vehicle available for use with mileage reimbursement provided per Department of Health policies and possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in Maryland. May require occasional evening and weekend assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
- Experience: Outreach experience and being comfortable speaking to the public.
- Desired or Preferred Qualifications: Some familiarity with medical terminology is preferred but not required.
