Bilingual Addictions Counselor - Outpatient

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced (licensed or certified) and motivated Addictions Counselor to join our mission-driven organization, committed to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery and improved well-being. Our mission is to promote long-term recovery by providing comprehensive treatment and support to people with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related conditions, regardless of individual circumstances. This role will focus on providing services to mono-lingual Spanish speaking clients and requires availability to work two evenings per week.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for a caseload of clients, as identified by program requirements and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete required evaluations and assessments, including screening, intake, clinical assessments, ASAM, and biopsychosocial histories.
  • Complete individual treatment plans upon client's admission.
  • Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client's electronic health record and complete monthly treatment reports within 24 hours of service delivery, no later than 72 hours.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions based on client's treatment plan goals and level of care.
  • Participate in funding source reviews and make recommendations for treatment and lengths of stay.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Coordinate with agency and community resources to ensure a thorough treatment plan.
  • Assist clients with developing a discharge/continuing care plan and connecting to resources needed to reach personal goals both during treatment and in advance of discharge.
  • Follow up with clients after discharge based on regulatory guidelines until they have been established with other case management/social services.

Requirements

Qualifications vary by level:

  • Counselor I: Bachelor's degree with one (1) year of clinical experience.
  • Counselor II: Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of clinical experience.
  • Counselor III: Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of clinical experience; or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Chemical Dependency, Counseling, or Nursing with no experience required; or Master's degree in a related field with one (1) year of clinical experience.

Acceptable degrees include (but are not limited to): Social Work, Psychology, Addiction, Counseling, Human Services, and Criminal Justice.
