About the role

The Therapist provides clinical assessments and therapy to individuals, families and groups under the supervision of the Supervisor. Responsibilities include using independent judgment to provide various therapeutic services such as individual, child, family and group therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information, assesses needs, and provides appropriate direct clinical and related therapeutic services, emphasizing evidence-based practices (EBPs).
  • Maintains appropriate case notes and other records and prepares periodic reports as required.
  • Maintains timely access to care, ongoing engagement, and delivery of clinically appropriate services in alignment with program expectations for CalWORKs Therapists.
  • Manages an assigned caseload of clients, which may include up to 60 individuals, ensuring timely access to care, ongoing engagement, and delivery of clinically appropriate services in alignment with program expectations.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of service standards and policies as stipulated by contract, licensing, and/or other governing bodies.
  • Participates in regular clinical supervision.
  • Provides consultation to representatives of other agencies by providing regular reports as needed.
  • Conducts and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.
  • Ensures confidentiality and protects the integrity and availability of patient Protected Health Information (PHI).

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required.
  • 2 years of therapeutic experience.
  • Valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance or reliable transportation.
  • Spanish / English bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Current Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) registration required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel and E-mail.
  • Proficient in Electronic Health Records System.
