The behavioral health Therapist will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive care programs for clients at Prisma Community Care. The program empowers clients to make healthy choices and live well, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or HIV status. The Therapist supports the Prisma Community Care mission of promoting well-being and advancing health equity for diverse communities.

Essential Functions

  • Provide comprehensive psychotherapy services for Prisma Community Care clients, including initial assessment and ongoing therapy.
  • Create treatment plans, define and prioritize areas for improvement, and work with clients to set short-term and long-term goals.
  • Review treatment plans with the Clinical Director or supervisor.
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to help clients achieve desired or necessary changes.
  • Offer crisis intervention as needed.
  • Consult and collaborate with other professionals to support client treatment.
  • Maintain mental health reports and records in a timely manner.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as documentation, charting, and supervision.
  • Participate in outreach to identify prospective clients and community needs.
  • Present educational sessions within the agency and the community.
  • Attend supervision meetings with the Clinical Director or designated supervisor.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: Graduate degree in behavioral health, counseling internship, or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of mental health and community resources, HIPAA compliance, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a mission-driven organization with diverse clients and staff.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Current licensure from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, experience with CLAS standards, knowledge of HIV/AIDS and substance abuse issues, bilingual proficiency (Spanish & English).

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Work in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • Exposure to computer screens for prolonged periods.
  • Extensive use of clinical documentation via a standard computer keyboard.
  • Regularly walk, sit, stand; use hands, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally reach with hands and arms.
  • Close, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Compliance Requirements

  • Fingerprint Clearance Card within 90 days of employment.
  • TB test within 30 days of employment.
  • Current flu vaccination within 30 days of employment.
  • Hepatitis-B primary vaccination series initiated within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
