Bi-vocational Senior Pastor

About the Role

We are seeking a visionary, passionate, and biblically-grounded Bi-Vocational Senior Pastor to lead us into our next season of growth. Our ideal candidate is a shepherd and gifted communicator with a strong administrative background who is comfortable ministering to a diverse congregation. We need a leader who will inspire the congregation, help grow the membership (and help it to become a more diverse congregation), equip our members for ministry, and help us deepen our local community impact.

Qualifications

• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
• Three years of experience as an ordained Assistant, Associate, or Senior Pastor.
• Strong expository/topical preaching that connects scripture to daily life.
• Proven ability to lead groups, members, manage church vision and mission, and foster unity.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proclaim the gospel to FBC members and guests, and lead FBC in proclaiming the gospel to the community.
• Ensure the spiritual growth of the members.
• Oversee the administration of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.
• Counsel and assist Deacons, Leadership Team Officers, and committees to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the church Constitution and By-Laws.
• Be community focused, providing the vision for community outreach, evangelism, and efforts to attract members.
• Perform other duties as needed to assist the congregation.

Pay

Our current operating budget is modest, and we expect the Pastor to have an additional job outside of this position. The salary will be based on tithes and offerings collected. As the membership grows and financial resources increase, the Pastor’s salary will be adjusted accordingly.

• Unpaid Time Off – four Sundays per year. This may be adjusted as the membership grows and financial resources increase.
