About the Role
The Bi-Vocational Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of Mt Calvary Baptist Church, responsible for spiritual leadership and pastoral care in accordance with the church’s By-laws. This role requires a deep commitment to faith, biblical preaching from the King James Bible, and a passion for guiding the congregation in spiritual growth. The ideal candidate conforms to the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver Christ-centered, Bible-based sermons for two Sunday services and one Wednesday service each week.
- Collaborate with ministerial staff and the music leader to coordinate cohesive and spiritually meaningful weekly worship services.
- Prepare biblically sound and relevant Bible studies and teachings for the congregation.
- Develop, execute, and communicate the church’s mission and vision, aligning ministerial activities with spiritual and physical growth goals.
- Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to the congregation and community.
- Visit shut-in members in hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences as led by faith.
- Visit and comfort bereaved families, offering spiritual support and prayer.
- Reach out to visitors, new members, and newly baptized members with calls or visits to provide spiritual guidance.
- Organize Sunday Communion Services with church deacons regularly.
- Volunteer alongside the congregation for special church events such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), Fall Festival, and Revivals.
- Administer sacraments, including baptisms and funerals.
- Promote and foster a sense of community within the congregation and encourage outreach efforts into the community.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in pastoral ministry involving preaching.
- Currently an ordained minister.
- Submission of preaching samples (links) along with a resume.
Schedule
Part-time, minimum of 20 hours weekly.
