Bi-Lingual Clinical Interviewer
About the Role
The Department of Epidemiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a clinical interviewer to support the DISCOVERY, a multicenter study funded by NIDDK to study the pathophysiology of youth-onset type two diabetes. The position includes assisting with recruitment and retention of study participants.
Responsibilities
- Recruit participants into the study utilizing both Spanish and English skills
- Administer consent forms and questionnaires
- Maintain database of information such as enrollment and participant interviews
- Assist Principal Investigator in generating reports from the study
- Assist with community outreach
- Schedule appointments and make appointment reminder calls
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Must be organized, a good speaker, and attentive listener; computer literate; assist with data entry and reports; capable of walking, standing, and climbing stairs; knowledgeable of the Bronx neighborhoods and mass transportation. Flexibility in hours and days is required (including weekdays, evenings, and weekends). This role requires in-office work—remote work is not available.
Requirements
- High School Graduate plus 6 months–1 year of clerical experience required
- Experience working with families and children is preferred
Skills and Competencies
- Must be able to communicate well with others
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- May use other web-based programs as assigned
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Pay
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this position are listed below. These rates are based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.
- Hiring Rate: $26.37
- Post-Probationary Rate: $26.90
- Job Rate: $28.02
