About the role
CURE Auto Insurance is seeking a Bodily Injury Defense Attorney to join our team. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside a first-rate team of subject matter experts in law, insurance, and business operations.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal counsel in conjunction with claims to strategize, implement, and manage litigation cases, including trial and expense control
- Plan, take, and defend depositions
- Prepare and respond to pleadings and discovery
- Evaluate and provide detailed analysis of assigned cases in accordance with CURE’s staff counsel policies and procedures
- Collaborate with CURE’s insureds and Claims Department to establish, communicate, and implement team litigation objectives and obtain prompt resolution of claims
- Attend motion hearings, arbitration hearings, and all other pre-trial matters
- Prepare for and try cases
- Draft and argue post-trial motions and appeals
- Negotiate high-level settlement agreements
Requirements
- At least 3 years of auto bodily injury and negligence litigation experience
- Experience independently managing a caseload of bodily injury defense matters, working cases from beginning to end
- Auto defense trial experience is required
- Excellent research, writing, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to think critically, analyze complex information, and problem solve efficiently
- Highly collaborative working style with demonstrated commitment to meeting individual and team goals
- Adaptable and computer savvy with an ability to navigate multiple systems
Qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to practice, and in good standing, with the NJ State Bar
- PA and/or NY admission preferred; Michigan is a plus

Pay
Starting salary: $100,000 - $160,000
Schedule
- Flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (e.g., 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM)
- Hybrid work schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote per week
Work Environment
- Required job duties consist of prompt and regular attendance
- Ability to frequently move about the office to coordinate work with others
- Standing, sitting, and typing for extended periods
- Lifting and/or carrying up to 5 lbs
- Frequent communication with others in-person, on the phone/virtually, and in writing
- Ability to read, understand, process, and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make informed decisions
