The integrated resort is located on 87 acres of the Hollywood Seminole Reservation along State Road 7 (U.S. Highway 441), 10 minutes from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and 30 minutes from downtown Miami and Miami International Airport.

About the Role

Under the direction of the Assistant Beverage Manager and Beverage Manager, serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests throughout the property, ensuring a positive guest experience. Responsible for training Cocktail Servers.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures
  • Take guest orders, serve drinks, and collect monies in a courteous and efficient manner while adhering to cash handling procedures
  • Ensure guest satisfaction in assigned areas and other areas if necessary
  • Adhere to state liquor laws and TIPS training guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized bar and service area at all times
  • Adhere to beverage control procedures and all regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate a commitment to responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying managers of concerns and observations
  • Demonstrate actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values: Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion, and Dedication
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to managers and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations
  • Promote positive guest and team member relations
  • Act as a role model for the department and an ambassador of the service culture
  • Conduct one-on-one training of new hire Cocktail Servers, including:
    • Taking guest orders
    • Serving drinks
    • Collecting monies and cash handling procedures
    • Organization and sanitation of the bar and service area
    • Beverage control procedures
  • Assist in the development and/or delivery of training
  • Maintain task inventories, training materials, SOPs, and side work for Cocktail Servers
  • Ensure employees are immediately retrained when SOP certification is not achieved
  • Maintain an up-to-date library of SOPs and ensure information is readily available to all Beverage staff
  • Conduct monthly active testing and gather feedback on employee retention of material
  • Ensure Alcohol Awareness Training Certifications for all Cocktail Servers on an ongoing basis
  • Schedule and conduct frequent training sessions, including refresher sessions, to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of high-volume cocktail service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six (6) months as a Casino Cocktail Server with Seminole Gaming
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age
  • Casino experience preferred

Work Environment

  • May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors, including secondhand smoke and excessive noise
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and taste or smell
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • The casino environment is hectic, fast-paced, often crowded, and noisy

Additional Information

The Tribal Council gives preference in all employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting, and all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.

As part of Seminole Gaming’s employment process, final candidates will be required to obtain gaming licensure by completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations, prior to an offer being extended. These background checks may include, but are not limited to, credit checks and criminal background checks.
