Beverage Server- Lucky Ember- Part Time (Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino)

Responsibilities

• Takes drink orders, communicates with bartender using proper calling order, assists in drink preparation, and serves drinks to guests.
• Handles money according to departmental procedures.
• Provides personalized service and uses guests' names.
• Solves service issues according to Service Recovery guidelines.
• Serves as an ambassador of goodwill during work and public relations functions; participates in promotional activities.
• Maintains a general knowledge of alcohol by brand and cocktails by ingredients.
• Maintains attendance guidelines, adheres to regulations, departmental, and company policies.
• Models appropriate behavior and encourages others to do the same.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 18 years old.
• Previous food and beverage service, preferably in the casino industry or upscale settings, is preferred.
• Vast knowledge of food and beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, including beer, wine, and liquor.
• Able to multitask and work independently without supervision.
• Able to initiate conversations professionally, friendlily, and respectfully.
• Presents a professional appearance that guests find approachable.
• Basic math skills to charge and credit various items.
• Knowledge of casino and hotel services, special events, and local attractions.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodation.
• Able to bend, stoop, and twist when serving cocktails, stand and walk for up to 8-hour shifts.
• Able to work in areas with secondhand smoke, high noise levels, and bright lights.
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs. (bus tubs with used glassware).
• Able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
• Able to respond to visual and aural cues.
• Comfortable working outside in very hot temperatures, including the pool area.
• Open availability to work any day and any shift.
