Bevel Laser Operator - 2nd & 3rd Shift

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bevel Laser Operator responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC laser cutting equipment in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks safely and responsibly.
  • Interpret blueprints and part drawings to understand cut requirements and bevel details.
  • Load and unload steel plates using overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure quality, precision, and efficiency.
  • Identify and correct issues such as dross, taper, or inconsistent bevel angles.
  • Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections with appropriate measuring tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering and programming teams to troubleshoot cutting or program issues.
  • Perform deburring and basic preventative maintenance to maintain equipment performance.
  • Ensure proper part identification, handling, and staging for downstream processes.
  • Follow safety protocols and use required safety equipment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 1–3 years of CNC bevel laser operation experience, preferably in a job shop.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret part drawings.
  • Experience with bevel cutting applications and large steel plates.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and understanding of cut quality standards.
  • Proficiency with machine interfaces and production systems; basic computer skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and operate overhead cranes and forklifts (training provided).
  • Good vision and manual dexterity for precise work.
