About the Role
BestDrive Commercial Tire Centers specializes in providing fleet customers with innovative tire solutions, including award-winning Continental and General Tire brand products, ContiPressureCheck, and a wide array of multi-brand truck tires. As a Tire Service Technician, you will play an essential role in our business by performing tire-related services and repairs for commercial vehicles and off-the-road equipment.
Sign-On Bonus: Eligible external candidates may receive a sign-on bonus based on the Service Technician level hired into:
- Service Technician I – $1,500
- Service Technician II – $2,500
- Service Technician III – $3,500
- Service Technician IV – $4,500
The sign-on bonus is earned through continued employment and paid in installments after 30, 90, and 180 days, provided eligibility requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Mount, dismount, install, balance, and repair commercial vehicle and medium truck tires.
- Service and repair tires for off-the-road equipment (construction, earthmoving, mining, farm, etc.).
- Load and unload tires on and off trucks.
- Repair tires and inspect tires and wheels before and after service to determine repairable conditions.
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
- Document work performed accurately and according to company policy.
- Operate heavy-duty tire service equipment and tools, including boom cranes, cribbing, jacks, compressors, and electric and hydraulic equipment.
- Unbolt and re-bolt wheels from/to equipment using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
- Mount and dismount any type of off-the-road tire, including multi-piece rims.
- Perform emergency road service calls on nights and/or weekends on a rotating basis.
- Maintain assigned service vehicle, including appearance, onboard service equipment, and tools.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.
- Ability to work on a team and independently.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship provided for this role).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of tire service technician experience.
- CDL License (a plus).
- TIA certification.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work hours are generally 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays and evenings as needed (may have little to no advance notice).
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor work environments, including heat and cold.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk.
- Must handle hazardous materials and wear protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).
- Required to lift 75-100 lbs. routinely; may occasionally lift up to 150 lbs. individually.
