About the Role
💰 Sign-On Bonus Available! Eligible external candidates may receive a sign-on bonus based on the Service Technician level hired into:
- Service Technician I – $1,500
- Service Technician II – $2,500
- Service Technician III – $3,500
- Service Technician IV – $4,500
The sign-on bonus is earned through continued employment and paid in installments after 30, 90, and 180 days, provided eligibility requirements are met.
The Tire Service Technician is essential to our business, responsible for dismounting, mounting, balancing, and repairing commercial vehicle and medium truck tires, as well as servicing off-the-road equipment (construction, earthmoving, mining, farm, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Mount, dismount, and install tires and tire/wheel assemblies
- Load and unload tires on and off trucks
- Repair tires and inspect tires and wheels before and after service
- Determine repairable tire conditions and perform repairs
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors
- Document work performed accurately and according to company policy
- Operate heavy-duty tire service equipment and tools, including boom cranes, cribbing, jacks, compressors, and electric and hydraulic equipment
- Unbolt and re-bolt wheels from/to equipment using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools
- Mount and dismount any type of off-the-road tire, including multi-piece rims
- Perform emergency road service calls on nights and/or weekends on a rotating basis
- Maintain assigned service vehicle, including appearance, onboard service equipment, and tools
- Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment
- Ability to work on a team and independently
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship provided for this role)
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of tire service technician experience
- CDL License (a plus)
- TIA certification
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work hours are generally 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays and evenings (may have little to no advance notice)
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor work environments, including heat and cold
- Regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk
- Must handle hazardous materials and wear protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.)
- Routinely lift 75-100 lbs; may occasionally lift up to 150 lbs individually
