BestDrive Retread Technician - TEMP

About the Role

As a Retread Technician at BestDrive, you will inspect, analyze, repair, and rebuild Commercial Light Truck (CLT) and Medium Truck tires to add value for customers and generate additional revenue for BestDrive.

Responsibilities

• Inspect casings using Conti-established tools, procedures, methods, and work instructions.
• Run casings through the shearography machine, analyze results, and grade the casing.
• Buff remaining tread from casings following Conti-established procedures.
• Apply tread to prepared casings using Conti-established tools and methods.
• Place casing in an envelope, install the inner envelope, and ensure an airtight seal for curing.
• Vacuum test the envelope to confirm proper sealing.
• Repair casing injuries using Conti-established tools and procedures.
• Load the curing chamber and set proper curing parameters.
• Communicate with BestDrive sales and fleet personnel to complete service tasks.
• Complete necessary paperwork legibly.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements for the position.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship provided).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 1-2 years of previous manufacturing experience (preferred).

Work Environment

• Work hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday; occasional Saturdays and evenings with little to no advance notice.
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, including heat and cold.
• Regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk.
• Handle hazardous materials and wear protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, eyewear, etc.).
• Comply with OSHA and MSHA regulations and safety requirements.
• Routinely lift 75-100 lbs; occasionally lift up to 150 lbs individually.
