About the role
Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Conducts sub-assembly and system-level functional test and debug to component level, including troubleshooting rejected analog and digital assemblies down to component level. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
Responsibilities
- Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation.
- Follows established procedures on routine work; requires instructions only on new assignments.
- Reads, understands, and follows test process instructions (TPIs).
- Performs production and field service returns testing and troubleshooting.
- Conducts detailed root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex electromechanical instruments.
- Assembles and disassembles electronic equipment using basic hand tools.
- Interprets schematics and drawings, performs modifications, and accomplishes rework to new and used subassemblies and systems.
- Uses oscilloscopes, function generators, variable power supplies, and digital multi-meters.
- Works closely with mechanical, electrical, and optical engineers to provide feedback and recommend changes to improve operation or quality of test, assembly fixtures, tooling, and processes.
- Available for overtime and weekend work as required in addition to a minimum 40-hour workweek.
Requirements
- 5+ years of manufacturing electronic test technician experience.
- Demonstrated detailed root cause analysis troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot complex electromechanical instruments.
- Skills for general assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment using basic hand tools.
- Ability to interpret schematics and drawings, perform modifications, and accomplish rework.
- Previous experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, variable power supplies, and digital multi-meters.
Pay
Annual salary range: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00
