Bernstein - Technology Sector Specialist
About the Role
We are searching for a Technology Sales Sector Specialist to join Bernstein’s Institutional Sales team in New York. The ideal candidate will combine technology industry expertise with strong analytical and communication skills to maximize the impact of Bernstein’s world-class technology research products.
Responsibilities
- Synthesize significant inputs including: investor sentiment, positioning, Bernstein research calls and products, sector news, and events to communicate impactfully with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Frame research and products to help identify opportunities for the Bernstein team to add value to investors.
- Work closely with the research teams to stay current on controversies and emerging trends in the space and share these perspectives with the generalist sales team.
- Maintain constant coverage of industry news, trends, and developments, and disseminate insights to internal and external stakeholders when appropriate.
- Liaise with internal sales and trading teams in response to news, corporate action, and company reporting.
- Co-host expert events with research analysts.
- Work with the Investor Access team to develop and organize relevant marketing opportunities.
- Be comfortable making +500 calls a year and available for regular marketing trips and events.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in presenting and debating a point under pressure.
- Proven track record of entrepreneurialism: taking initiative, developing new ideas, or contributing to business growth and innovation.
- Relentless intellectual curiosity and a drive to excel at the highest level.
- Significant knowledge in technology financial markets.
- Proven understanding of global equity markets, company financials, asset allocation, and strategy.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills and client service orientation.
- Commercial skills to market and monetize research content.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in finance, technology, or related field.
- Prior experience in technology equity research.
