About the role

Certified Languages International (CLI) connects clients with world-class interpreting services. This contract position involves 100% over-the-phone interpretation, primarily for medical purposes. Services are provided to various industries including insurance, financial, utility companies, customer service, and state courts. This is a work-from-home position where interpreters set their own schedules, accommodating the 24/7 needs of clients through an online portal or landline telephone.

Responsibilities

• Provide over-the-phone interpreting services for clients in various industries.
• Interpret in multiple languages, with a focus on medical contexts.
• Set your own schedule based on client demand, which may vary due to 24/7 service needs.
• Use CLI's online portal or landline telephone to log on and off during shifts.

Requirements

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States (SSN or EIN and Photo ID required).
• Must reside in the United States.
• Minimum two years of professional interpreting experience, preferably in Over the Phone Interpreting.
• Pass a language assessment, details of which will be provided later.

Qualifications

• Fluency in the language(s) needed for the positions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Flexibility to work flexible hours.

Benefits

• Paid per minute for every minute spent on the phone interpreting.
• Direct deposit for payment twice a month, on the 15th and last day of the month.

Pay

Payment is on a per-minute basis, with interpreters paid for every minute spent on the phone interpreting.

Schedule

Interpreters set their own schedules based on client demand, which may vary due to the 24/7 nature of some services.
