Job Overview

The Benefits Systems Administrator and HRIS Analyst oversees day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs while assisting with the configuration and continuous improvement of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

This hybrid role ensures data integrity, troubleshoots system issues, authors and delivers training, oversees a subset of HRIS workflows, manages the benefits enrollment process (both year-round and annual open enrollment) within the system, and assists employees with systems-related and general benefits questions.

Essential Functions

  • Maintenance and Administration - Under the direction of the Manager, HRIS, the incumbent assists with the configuration, maintenance and upgrading of the HRIS platforms including but not limited to testing, managing user access, and ensuring data security.
  • Benefits Administration - Administers employee benefits plans including managing open enrollment within the HRIS, ensuring accurate data integration between the HRIS and carriers, and implementing on-going employee benefits changes. The incumbent is knowledgeable of and assists with employee systems and general benefits questions of moderate complexity.
  • Data Integrity and Reporting - Maintains high data accuracy, performs audits, and generates custom, routine, and ad-hoc reports for HR metrics and compliance requirements. Identifies and communicates trends identified in relevant reports. Reviews and processes requested employee job changes and ensures outcomes are properly reflected in the system.
  • Process Improvement and Support - Analyzes workflow processes to identify inefficiencies, implementing solutions, and providing technical training/support to staff within the HR team as well as in other departments.
  • Compliance – Collaborates with the Senior Director, Total Rewards, and the Manager, HRIS to ensure all HRIS and benefits processes comply with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, FLSA, and ERISA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience in HRIS administration and data analysis.
  • 3+ years’ experience in benefits administration.
  • Mandarin and/or Cantonese language proficiency preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HCM systems and reporting. EEOC and ACA reporting experience a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, pivot tables).
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated ability to explain technical processes to non-technical users.
  • Self-directed with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
