About the Opportunity:The Benefits Specialist role supports the employee benefits function by handling administrative tasks related to benefits enrollment, recordkeeping, and employee inquiries. This entry-level position ensures accurate benefits administration and effective communication with employees, contributing to the smooth operation of the organization’s total rewards program. 3. Responsibilities:Respond to routine correspondence and inquiries from employees, benefits carriers, and vendorsAnswer basic employee questions about benefits offerings, eligibility, and coverage, escalating complex issuesSupport open enrollment activities including material distribution and trackingUse ticket tracking systems to log and resolve employee inquiriesVerify enrollment data and reconcile discrepancies with providers or payrollRefer complex or escalated issues to higher-level staffPerform clerical and administrative duties to support the broader total rewards teamMaintain confidentiality of employee benefits information in compliance with policy and regulations 4. Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent1–2 years of relevant experience in benefits administration, human resources, or related administrative rolesAbility to work under direct supervision and handle basic issues independentlyWorking knowledge of benefits administration including common benefit typesFamiliarity with benefits enrollment processes and terminologyProficiency with HRIS/benefits systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality requirements (e.g., HIPAA)Strong organizational, data entry, and communication skillsBasic math and reconciliation skillsAbility to learn new systems and adapt to regulatory changes 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:Hourly pay range: $20.87 to $25.00, depending on experience and locationActual compensation varies by local pay requirements and meets or exceeds state minimums 6.
