Benefits Specialist
CoAd is hiring a Benefits Specialist to join our Operations team, focusing on health, life, dental, vision, and disability insurance plans while ensuring compliance with Section 125, FSA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable state and federal benefit laws. The preferred work location is our Bradenton, FL office with a schedule of 11am - 8pm EST, though remote candidates who can accommodate this schedule will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Provides support for a specific client product/service to internal and external clients, responding to and resolving questions.
- Administers health, life, dental, vision, FSA, and disability insurance plans.
- Ensures compliance with Section 125, FSA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable state and federal benefit laws.
- Processes all new hire enrollments, life status changes, and terminations.
- Monitors and maintains coverage of the inbound phone queue during business hours, providing timely, accurate, and professional assistance to worksite employees and clients regarding benefits, enrollment, eligibility, and other service-related inquiries.
- Escalates issues outside of scope as appropriate to ensure prompt resolution.
- Provides online medical, prescription, and dental data entry with applicable carriers.
- Audits benefit enrollments and processes both client and employee adjustments as necessary.
- Assists with adjudication of monthly bills as needed.
- Participates in the annual open enrollment (OE) process.
- Coordinates transfer of benefit elections to participating carriers on a daily basis as needed.
- Ensures compliance with governmental regulations.
- Utilizes Salesforce to document and communicate client and/or employee requests, challenges, issues, and resolution.
- Maintains strong oral and written communication skills with clients, sales, and other service associates.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Working knowledge of tools used to support client products and services.
- Strong task execution and follow-up skills.
- Ability to perform accurate and detailed audits.
- Demonstrated follow-up skills to ensure timely and effective closure of open items on sales orders and throughout the implementation process.
- Ability to multi-task, organize work based on priority, and meet deadlines.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience preferred.
- Call center experience preferred.
- Previous experience with benefits administration preferred.
- Excellent problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work well with others and under pressure.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel).
- Proficient in typing.
