Benefits Specialist

Primary Accountabilities

  • Be a key point of contact for employee benefits questions, assisting employees with understanding benefit programs, enrollment requirements, life event changes, and directing them to relevant resources.
  • Manage daily benefits administration activities, including handling AskHR/ServiceNow cases, enrollment support, eligibility updates, dependent verification follow-ups, vendor research, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with Senior Benefits Specialists, vendors, and internal teams to ensure benefits are administered according to plan provisions and applicable requirements.
  • Identify employee experience trends, recurring questions, and operational pain points, and recommend practical improvements to benefit processes, communications, and tools.
  • Contribute to benefit design, administration process improvement discussions by sharing employee feedback, operational insights, and data-supported recommendations.
  • Support Annual Enrollment, post-enrollment activities, year-end processes, audits, reporting, communications, and other high-volume benefits periods.
  • Maintain clear process documentation, job aids, and team resources to support administration, knowledge sharing, and scalable ways of working.
  • Contribute to benefits-related projects as assigned, including testing, communications, data review, vendor coordination, implementation support, and post-implementation improvement.
  • Escalate complex issues while overseeing, updating statuses, and resolving assigned items.
  • Build relationships across the Benefits Administration team and with HR partners, vendors, and other company partners.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions or service in a professional environment.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration or programs, policies, and related systems.
  • Experience managing multiple employee inquiries, deadlines, and recurring administrative processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with employees, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to research issues, analyze information, identify options, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Ability to use employee feedback, operational data, and recurring issue patterns to support process, communication, and administration improvements.
  • Comfort working with data, reports, case management tools, benefit administration systems, and shared documentation.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned responsibilities while collaborating in a small, supportive team environment.
  • Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with a willingness to learn and contribute to the team's efforts to make benefits easier for employees.

Position Compensation

Compensation range: $69,000.00 - $115,000.00
Pay rate type: Salary
Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10%.

Physical Requirements

Work that involves sitting/standing.

We will expect you to work 10 days per month from the office in this hybrid role. You should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Additional Information.
