Oversees the administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of employee benefits programs for multiple affiliated organizations serving more than 850 employees.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary resource for employee benefits questions and concerns.
- Administer all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, FSA/HSA, voluntary benefits, COBRA, and wellness initiatives.
- Manage benefit eligibility, enrollments, life events, status changes, and terminations, ensuring accurate administration in ADP and vendor systems.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment, employee communications, education sessions, and benefit presentations.
- Reconcile benefit invoices, monitor vendor payments, and resolve discrepancies.
- Partner with brokers and consultants on benefit strategy, renewals, cost containment, and plan improvements.
- Oversee workers' compensation administration, including claim review, accident reporting, trend monitoring, required investigations, and hearing participation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, OSHA, ADA, EEOC, Medicare, and related reporting requirements.
- Monitor HRIS processes affecting benefit eligibility, enrollment, and ACA measurement periods.
- Support supervisor and leadership training related to benefits, safety, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation.
- Maintain expertise in FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and Workers' Compensation regulations and serve as the primary backup for leave administration.
Requirements
- At least five years of benefits administration experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- ADP experience and experience administering self-insured medical and workers’ compensation programs strongly preferred.
- Valid, unrestricted NY State driver's license strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business/human resources and HR certification preferred.
