About the Role
The Benefits Manager is responsible for designing, administering, and continuously improving Catamount's total rewards programs to attract, retain, and engage exceptional employee-owners. This role leads benefits administration, leave management, retirement programs, compliance reporting, and total rewards communications while partnering closely with Finance and the People Team to ensure programs are compliant, financially responsible, and aligned with Catamount's culture.
Responsibilities
- Administer all employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and retirement plans, as well as company-provided benefits like the Catamount Family Leave Policy.
- Serve as the primary contact for benefit vendors, brokers, third-party administrators, and retirement providers.
- Resolve complex employee benefit and claims issues.
- Manage employee benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and ongoing plan administration.
- Lead annual Open Enrollment, including planning, communications, employee education, and execution.
- Manage and maintain HRIS and benefits administration systems to ensure accurate data flow, eligibility feeds, and reporting.
- Administer federal, state, and company leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability, and workers' compensation claims.
- Coordinate with Safety and HR on workers' compensation case management and return-to-work processes.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on leave regulations and employee accommodations.
- Partner with Finance on annual Form 5500 filings and retirement plan compliance.
- Perform regular audits of benefits, eligibility, enrollment, and vendor data to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Reconcile benefit premium statements and monitor vendor billing accuracy.
- Analyze utilization, participation, and cost trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Administer compensation and benefits surveys, evaluating market data for a competitive total rewards strategy.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions and benefit processing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in total rewards, benefits, compensation, or human resources.
- Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and other applicable employment regulations.
- Experience administering retirement plans, leave programs, and vendor relationships.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- CEBS, SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, or related certification preferred.
Pay
Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 USD
