Benefits Manager
About the role
The Benefits Program Manager is responsible for the design, governance, and execution of the company’s global benefits programs. This role leads the design, administration, and continuous improvement of health, retirement, wellness, and leave programs while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution and administration of health and wellness programs, including medical plans, executive wellness initiatives, and financial health programs such as HSAs and FSAs.
- Evaluate program performance and recommend enhancements that improve employee outcomes and cost efficiency.
- Develop and manage the strategic direction of retirement programs, including 401(k) plans and other financial benefits.
- Oversee voluntary benefits offerings such as commuter benefits, adoption assistance, and supplemental insurance programs.
- Establish governance frameworks for paid time off (PTO) policies and oversee complex leave programs including FMLA, parental leave, disability, and other statutory or company-provided leave programs.
- Provide oversight for workers’ compensation and unemployment programs, ensuring effective administration, vendor coordination, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead vendor management activities including broker partnerships, contract negotiations, and RFP processes. Monitor vendor performance and ensure services are delivered efficiently and in alignment with company objectives.
- Ensure benefits programs comply with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations across operating regions. Oversee regulatory filings such as Form 5500 and coordinate audit preparation, including Department of Labor reviews.
- Provide insight of benefits administration technology and HRIS integrations (such as Workday or ADP). Partner with People Technology teams to optimize system functionality, automate workflows, and improve employee self-service capabilities.
- Increase employee understanding and engagement with benefits programs through targeted communications, education initiatives, and data-informed engagement strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7-10+ years of experience managing benefits programs from end to end across a variety of jurisdictions.
- Experience working with benefits platforms and HRIS systems such as Workday, ADP, or similar systems.
- Experience developing programs and processes focused on benefits compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong proficiency with benefits administration platforms and HRIS systems.
- Experience managing system integrations, benefits workflows, and employee self-service functionality.
- Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Ability to analyze benefits utilization, cost trends, and employee feedback data.
- Experience using data to identify program improvements and forecast benefits trends.
- Deep understanding of benefits-related regulations including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and related compliance frameworks.
- Experience supporting audits, filings, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex benefits information into clear employee messaging.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with HR partners, Finance, Legal, and external vendors.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- High level of discretion when handling confidential employee data.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

- Technical Expertise: Strong experience managing benefits platforms and HRIS systems such as Workday or ADP, with a focus on automation, reporting, and employee self-service functionality.

- Compliance Expertise: Deep understanding of benefits-related regulations including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and related compliance frameworks. Experience supporting audits and regulatory filings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present benefits information and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Interpersonal Effectiveness: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across HR, Finance, Legal, and vendor partners. Maintains a high level of discretion and confidentiality when managing sensitive employee data.
Pay
$98,780 - $123,480 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision. The actual salary will vary by geographic region and job experience.

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $98,780 - $123,480 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision. The actual salary will vary by geographic region and job experience. We will share detailed compensation data for a specific location during the recruiting process.
