Opportunity
The Benefit Analyst supports Account Executives, Advisors, and provides underwriting services. This role involves quoting, reporting, and strategic analytic processes. The analyst works closely with carriers and vendors to develop strategies and manage the renewal process.
Responsibilities
- Support Account Executives, Advisors, and underwriting services
- Develop and communicate strategy for RFPs, results, and reports to carrier partners/vendors
- Maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally with HUB clients and vendors
- Propose new and renewal groups
- Understand and analyze respective markets and products to find best solutions
- Analyze benefits and claims data for inclusion in RFPs, organize carrier & vendor bids received, and follow up on non-responses and late submissions
- Negotiate with carriers throughout the RFP process
- Address carrier questions during RFP process and advise on client benefit strategy
- Support Account Executive with data gathering of benchmarking, strategic planning, and reporting duties
- Conduct claims analysis and contribution modeling
- Interpret census data and evaluate its accuracy
- Communicate with Account Executives and Producers on status of marketing activity
- Review insurance bids for compliance with specifications, identify key differences, and maintain client databases within internal systems
- Create and update templates used during the strategy and marketing process
- Add to and maintain client access to external online portals
- Provide training as a subject-matter-expert to other Client Services team members on various topics
- Manage and assist with client-related service issues
- Attend carrier sales meetings, trainings, and webinars
- Manage and assist with client-related service issues
- Perform research and problem resolution of data issues using multiple systems, tools, and resources
- Maintain positive relationships both internally and externally
- Maintain HUB Values including HIPPA and ACA Compliance
- Achieve HUB turn-around times as outlined in the KPIs
- Aid in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures
- Function as the analytical subject matter in strategy meetings with Account Executive and Producer
- Mentor junior Benefit Analysts
- Work within the project management tool SmartSheet
- Work within Benefit Point to update client information
Qualifications
- College Degree
- 3+ years working for a carrier or brokerage firm
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – intermediate to expert user level preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail
- Team-oriented self-starter with ability to prioritize, monitor, and control workflow deadlines and be flexible
- Detail-oriented
- Sense of urgency
- Understanding of benefits & benefit terminology
- Proficient typing ability
- High degree of independence and problem-solving skills
- Accurate completion of enrollment/changes which includes follow-up with carriers and team
