About the Role
The Benefits Analyst interprets Summaries of Benefits and Coverage (SBCs) and client-specific benefit information to accurately complete the department’s Project Requirements Document (PRD) and benefit book templates.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Project Manager to understand changes needed or collateral to be created for the client.
- Obtain all necessary background information and materials, and ask relevant questions to enable project completion.
- Interpret SBCs, SPDs, benefits summaries, and marketing spreadsheets, ensuring accurate transfer or annotation in the PRD and other benefit templates.
- Review all work for consistency, accuracy, and completeness, adhering to Higginbotham’s standard for benefits information.
- Promptly inform the Project Manager and Content Writer when information is ready for the next step or requires clarification.
- Comply with the organization and usage of the content library.
- Balance a workload of several competing assignments with quick turnaround times.
- Proactively identify opportunities and work with the team to improve processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in health insurance.
- General lines insurance license preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and produce error-free work.
- Highly motivated self-starter who works independently to accomplish goals.
- Strong organization and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in benefits regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Asana, and Monday.com.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and team collaboration.
- Applied Epic experience preferred; knowledge of similar Agency Management Systems (AMS) acceptable.
