About the role

The Benefits Analyst will administer and support employee benefits programs, focusing on enrollment administration, process auditing, data integrity, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Works with Benefits Manager to ensure all benefit materials and processes are consistent and compliant with internal policy, federal, and state regulations.
  • Affords assistance in handling enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, and compliance testing.
  • Receives and reviews monthly and ad hoc invoices; identifies inconsistencies and collaborates with vendors to resolve.
  • Audit Affordable Care Act processes and ensures compliance with ACA requirements.
  • Oversees vendor integrations with HRIS system.
  • Collaborates on materials for benefits orientation, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
  • Provides training and support to employees and field HR staff.
  • Conducts regular audits and reports on metrics, trends, and compliance.
  • Participates in external audits and assessments.
  • Affords assistance with leave administration processes.
  • Affords assistance with benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required; 3 years’ experience in benefits field required. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
  • Workday HRIS experience strongly preferred.
  • Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation: Current HR certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.
