What You’ll Do
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee and consultant benefits questions; research and resolve issues with empathy and discretion.
- Administer retirement plan activity by processing 401(k) deferral/loan changes and uploading weekly contributions.
- Upload weekly HSA and FSA contributions and troubleshoot discrepancies as needed.
- Monitor vendor error files and reporting; coordinate corrections and follow-through.
- Track new-hire enrollments and partner with payroll on required setup or deduction adjustments.
- Distribute required plan documents at enrollment and annually, ensuring timely and compliant communications.
- Send weekly enrollment, termination, and benefits-related communications to employees and consultants.
- Process and monitor weekly COBRA changes.
- Support Open Enrollment planning, execution, and post-enrollment follow-up.
Additional Responsibilities
- Create benefits communications, employee materials, and support required benefit filings.
- Maintain and update benefits content on the HR intranet.
- Aid in ACA tracking and reporting.
- Provide benefits reporting to Finance/Accounting as requested.
- Process state child support withholding requests and related documentation.
- Contribute to benefit-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of benefits regulations (ACA, ERISA, IRS and DOL guidance, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.).
- Experience using an HRIS and partnering across payroll/finance to support accurate deductions and contributions (ADP Workforce Now is a plus).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage a high volume of requests and track issues to completion.
- Able to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience
- Minimum: High school diploma (or equivalent) and 3–4 years of benefits administration experience.
- PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in HR or a business-related field and 1–2 years of benefits administration experience.
- NICE TO HAVE: Experience supporting a multi-location organization and/or multiple employee benefit classes.

$22 - $24/hour
