AlphaStaffHCM is seeking an Employee Benefits Administrator responsible for the strategic administration, analysis, and consultative support of employee benefit programs for assigned strategic accounts. This role serves as a trusted resource to employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders by interpreting benefit provisions, evaluating complex issues, and recommending solutions that support compliant administration, effective service delivery, and client objectives. The position manages a portfolio of strategic accounts, exercises sound judgment on significant matters, and provides guidance that influences account outcomes, operational effectiveness, and regulatory alignment. The Employee Benefits Administrator plays a critical role in advancing employee experience and business objectives through clear communication, thoughtful issue resolution, and informed benefits recommendations. Salary Range: 65 - 75K Preferred Bilingual (English And Spanish). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Administration Benefits Oversee and evaluate the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans, COBRA, and voluntary benefits, to ensure alignment with plan provisions, account needs, and business objectives. Review complex enrollment, termination, qualifying life event, and eligibility matters; interpret applicable plan rules; determine appropriate actions; and resolve exceptions in accordance with established guidelines. Analyze benefits data and system activity to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas of risk, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements to maintain data integrity. Employee Support & Communication Serve as a lead resource for complex employee and client benefit inquiries, providing consultative guidance, interpreting plan provisions, and resolving issues with professionalism and confidentiality. Advise employees and stakeholders on benefit options, coverage implications, and enrollment requirements through clear written communication and individualized consultative support. Lead or support open enrollment strategy, implementation planning, stakeholder communications, and issue resolution for assigned accounts. Vendor & Carrier Management Manage relationships among employees, internal teams, and benefit carriers or vendors to resolve escalated matters, clarify requirements, and support service outcomes for assigned accounts. Investigate claims and eligibility issues, assess root causes, determine appropriate resolution paths, and escalate matters with recommendations when needed. Review carrier submissions and invoicing reconciliations to identify exceptions, mitigate risk, and recommend corrective action to support accurate plan administration. Compliance & Documentation Interpret and apply federal, state, and local benefit-related regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA, to support compliant administration and advise stakeholders on requirements affecting assigned accounts. Review ACA reporting requirements and related documentation, identify compliance issues, and recommend actions to improve accuracy and reduce risk. Review and maintain benefit plan documentation, summaries, and internal policies to ensure consistency, completeness, and alignment with regulatory and business requirements. Operational & Strategic Support Contribute to benefits plan renewals, benchmarking, and vendor evaluations by analyzing options, identifying impacts, and providing recommendations for assigned accounts. Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance to ensure alignment across systems and processes. Manage a designated portfolio of strategic accounts, serving as the lead benefits resource for complex client and employee matters. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in evaluating benefit administration issues, interpreting plan provisions, determining appropriate courses of action, and escalating exceptions when warranted. Analyze trends, service issues, and account needs to recommend process improvements, service strategies, and operational solutions that affect business outcomes. Provide guidance and recommendations to leadership, clients, and internal stakeholders on benefit-related matters, compliance considerations, and service delivery for assigned accounts. Qualifications Education & Experience: Associate degree or 3+ years combined work experience and education. Solid understanding of employee benefits programs and applicable regulations. Strong attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Have an active 2-15 life and health license (or obtain within 1 year). Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel/VLOOKUP Ability to multitask and be highly organized with strong communication skills. Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms. Client-facing or consultative experience, preferably supporting complex accounts, benefits strategy, or issue resolution. Skills & Competencies Analytical Judgment: Evaluates complex benefits issues, identifies implications, and recommends appropriate courses of action. Client & Stakeholder Consultation: Provides timely, professional, and solutions-oriented guidance to clients and internal partners. Priority Management: Effectively manages competing demands across multiple strategic accounts in a deadline-driven environment. Technical & Systems Acumen: Uses HRIS, benefits platforms, and reporting tools to assess issues, identify trends, and support decision-making. Problem‑Solving: Identifies issues proactively and resolves them efficiently with minimal supervision. Communication Skills: Communicates complex information clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Collaboration: Works effectively with cross-functional teams, including Payroll, HR, IT, and Client Technology. Work Environment This position is primarily office-based, with work performed on a computer in either a corporate office or a remote home office setting. The role may require using telephones, participating in virtual or in-person meetings, attending company events, and completing training sessions.
