About the role
This position will be in the Jackson County/ Independence Resource Center based at 18801 E 39th St South Suite B10, Independence, MO. As our Benefit Program Technician you will help Missouri citizens to receive food, medical, financial and nutritional assistance so they can live safe, healthy and productive lives. Every day you will determine initial and continuing eligibility of Missouri citizens for these services, interview clients in person and by telephone, prepare summaries and much more.
Responsibilities
- Determine initial and continuing eligibility of Missouri citizens for food, medical, financial and nutritional assistance.
- Interview clients in person and by telephone.
- Prepare summaries and other related documents.
Requirements
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least four years of customer service experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree.
Qualifications
- Personable, compassionate and have a non-judgmental attitude.
- Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
