About the role

This is an on-site position that supports clients by managing all aspects of their employee benefits, including both client-specific plans and PEO Master Benefit Plans. The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and takes ownership of their work.

Responsibilities

  • Uses Kronos (UKG) and Worklio HRIS systems for the administration of both non-PEO and PEO client benefit plans.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of employee benefit plan design, provisions and the regulatory environment with the ability to effectively communicate these with clients and employees.
  • Offers open enrollment support to PEO clients; assists with open enrollment meetings for PEO clients upon request, explains benefit options to their employees and answers benefit questions.
  • Communicates PEO enrollments to master plan insurance carrier and/or client’s agent.
  • Adds, end-dates or revises employee deductions as needed; calculates refunds or missed deductions and schedules refunds or recoveries with prior client and employee approvals; notifies payroll department of changes.
  • Maintains updated, accurate benefit plan deductions for new hires, terminations, qualifying status changes, plan renewals, etc.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with clients and their employees, agents, and insurance carriers as a brand ambassador for Propel HR;
  • Serves as an internal escalation point of contact to help resolve client, partner, or employee issues within the Benefits department.
  • Manages positive client relationships with the Propel HR benefits department through verbal and written communication, including on-site visits and frequent touchpoints.
  • Handles special projects and assignments as requested.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or other business-related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years benefits administration experience required, large multi-plan employer or agency experience preferred; PEO experience a plus.
  • Active Life & Health license or the ability to obtain a license within 180 days of employment.
  • CEBS designation preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Detail-oriented with auditing and/or reconciliation experience.
  • General working knowledge of Excel including the use of common functions.
  • Kronos (UKG), Worklio, Prism or other HRIS experience a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills a must.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) required; ability to work well with a team or independently.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environment with the ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Dependable and punctual; demonstrates consistent follow-through on commitments.
  • Self-motivated and hardworking with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Must be available and willing to work fully on-site; this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements.

Pay

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
