Bench Technician

Job Description

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, components, and assemblies in a timely manner.
Evaluate repair needs, prepare cost estimates when needed, and make recommendations for repair, replacement, or further review.
Monitor in-house bench repairs to ensure appropriate turnaround time and quality workmanship.
Test repaired equipment and components to verify proper function before return to production, inventory, or customer use.
Accurately complete repair documentation, service records, parts usage, and related paperwork.

  • Support machinery assembly, subassembly builds, and production work when repair volume allows.
  • Install, adjust, and assemble mechanical and electronic components according to drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Aid in general manufacturing, shop, and department support duties as assigned.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety and quality procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Strong technical aptitude with electronics, mechanical, and electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to diagnose issues, troubleshoot to the component level when needed, and identify appropriate repair solutions.
  • Experience with machinery, manufacturing equipment, printing equipment, or similar industrial systems preferred.
  • Ability to perform electronic and mechanical assembly work, including installing components, units, and printed circuit boards according to specifications.
  • Ability to use electronic, hand, power, and pneumatic tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to customize units and make adjustments or repairs according to written specifications.
  • Solid computer and typing skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and other business or production systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, datasheets, and written work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.

High school diploma or GED required.

Associate degree in electronic technology, mechanical technology, or a related technical field preferred.
