About the Role
The Bellperson provides exceptional guest service by assisting with luggage, warmly greeting guests upon arrival, and delivering a range of services that enhance the overall guest experience. This role ensures guests feel welcomed, valued, and well-supported from the moment they arrive through the duration of their stay at Hawks Cay Resort.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Assist guests with luggage, guide them to their rooms, and provide any needed support.
- Deliver and retrieve guest items (luggage, packages, amenities, etc.) promptly and efficiently.
- Provide accurate information about resort facilities, amenities, local attractions, and services.
- Escort guests to their rooms and explain key room features and resort amenities.
- Assist with parking and retrieving guest vehicles when valet services are required.
- Handle guest requests for additional services, including transportation arrangements and recommendations for local dining and activities.
- Maintain a neat and organized bell desk, ensuring luggage carts, keys, and other equipment are readily available.
- Address guest concerns or complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage at the resort entrance or transportation areas.
- Treat all guest belongings with care and ensure security at all times.
- Support special guest needs, such as coordinating wake-up calls or room service requests.
- Provide support to the concierge team as needed with reservations and guest inquiries.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, helpful, and professional attitude.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of the local Florida Keys area, amenities, and attractions preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry luggage (typically 20–50 lbs, depending on guest needs).
- Ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to navigate stairs, ramps, and various areas of the resort.
Work Environment
- Primarily works in the resort lobby, guest rooms, and transportation areas.
- May work outdoors in valet or arrival areas and in varying weather conditions.
- Operates in high-traffic areas while interacting with a diverse range of guests.
