About the role
Ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors in schools throughout Adams 12 Five Star Schools. Review, refine, modify, and implement the threat-assessment process. Facilitate the exchange of safety information for enrolled students. Work on-call as needed, including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate threat-assessment services and lead the District Level Threat Assessment Team.
- Prioritize and manage students of highest concern, including intervention and coordination of services at home, school, and in the community.
- Document student progression, outcomes, and recommended clinical services.
- Participate in school threat assessments to ensure consistent application of the current instrument and data collection for Information Vortex.
- Advise district and school leaders on threat-assessment practices; provide consultation and training.
- Develop and implement coordinated professional training for all stakeholders on safety and security programs.
- Coordinate with other districts and outside agencies (CIAC, law enforcement, Office of School Safety) for comprehensive support and information sharing.
- Train and update school personnel and partner agencies on district safety, security, threat-assessment, and juvenile-justice policies.
- Notify schools and agencies of policy updates related to student and staff safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in school safety, school counseling, or school mental health.
- Criminal background check required for hire.

Pay
Full-time (1.0 FTE) salary range: $72,347 – $106,289. Salary adjusted for FTE and commensurate with education and experience.
Schedule
40 standard hours per week on a 10-month calendar.
