About the role

The Santa Cruz County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is a 16-bed locked acute psychiatric inpatient program for adults aged 18+, diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI), experiencing a mental health emergency and requiring intensive treatment and support.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the team of people providing patient care
  • Manage the business operations of the Program
  • Ensure successful management and leadership over the 4 Pillars of performance: Clinical Quality, Workforce Engagement, Customer Satisfaction, and Financial Security
  • Collaborate with all corporate functions and outside consultants and representatives of the program to State/County agencies, community partners, and consumer groups
  • Participate in a structured on-call rotation, remaining accessible and prepared to respond to work-related needs within a designated timeframe

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Social Services or Public Health
  • Four (4) years of experience in an administrative management position in a health care setting
  • Must have inpatient psych experience
  • Prefer Joint Commission experience
  • Two (2) years of responsibility of supervising professional staff, budgeting, program planning, and licensing
  • Understand community mental health services, psychiatric rehabilitation concepts, and the Recovery Philosophy
  • At least 21 years of age
  • CPR, First Aid, and CPI certified (hands-on course)

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver
  • Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc. (weekly mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate)

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience with healthcare regulations and compliance

Pay

Starting wage range is $156,572.96 - $193,421.22 Plus $10,000 Sign-on Bonus or Relocation Assistance. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Schedule

Full-Time: Monday- Friday 8:00 AM– 5:00 PM; days and hours could vary as this is an inpatient hospital. Will also include on call Rotation.
