This position works under clinical supervision and requires considerable knowledge of behavioral healthcare programs and program techniques. It is a member of a sex offender team.

About the role

As a member of a sex offender team, the incumbent is responsible for sex offender interventions for a caseload of assigned offenders.

Responsibilities

  • Completes screenings and assessments
  • Conducts group and sex offender interventions as prescribed on the individual in-program assessment using evidence-based correctional program intervention strategies within their scope of practice and as directed by supervision
  • Writes reports and maintains necessary data documents to satisfy requirements of federal, state, and local agencies
  • Enters documentation in electronic health record of all inmate encounters and contacts
  • Completes miscellaneous forms and reports as needed per policy and protocol
  • Completes transfer and discharge summaries
  • Consults with other institution staff regarding the sex offender caseload, inmate's institutional adjustment, and service needs
  • Attends meetings of sex offender program supervision
  • Attends in-service training and workshops for professional development

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board
  • Or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board
  • Or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board
