Behavioral Health Therapist - Outpatient Behavioral Health

About the role

The Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) provides intensive behavioral health services including diagnostic assessments, individual, group and family-based psychotherapy, and crisis intervention as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with patients and families in developing an individualized treatment plan that specifically addresses identified areas of concern
• Assist patients and their families in understanding ways to effectively manage symptoms and behaviors attributed to the identified behavioral health diagnosis(es)
• Assist families in effectively addressing complex personal and environmental difficulties which interfere with effective social functioning
• Deliver clinical services available to the patient, the patient's family, and other persons significant to the patient
• Work independently and identify opportunities to collaborate with other units/departments within the hospital
• Participate as a professional member of the interdisciplinary team and community agencies
• Provide education/consultation to health care professionals and the community regarding the impact of psychosocial factors
• Demonstrate and model Dayton Children's values through effective interaction with patients, families, and treatment team members while providing excellent care

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling required

Certifications

One of the following certifications is required:

• LISW - Licensed Independent Social Worker (Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board)
• LPCC - Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board)
• IMFT - Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board)

Schedule

• Full time, 40 hours
• Day shift, salaried position
• Serving the Outpatient Behavioral Health department at the South Campus hospital
